The Oman Medical Association holds its first meeting for the year 2024

Discussing the implementation of a scientific training program in the first half of the year
The first meeting of the association’s Board of Directors for the year 2024 was held at the headquarters of Oman Medical Association in Al Khuwair. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Waleed bin Khalid Al Zadjali, Chairman of the association’s Board of Directors, in the presence of members of the Board of Directors in person and via video communication.
The meeting began with a welcome speech from the Chairman of the association’s Board of Directors, during which he expressed his gratitude to all members of the Board for their efforts and achievements during the past year. He emphasized the necessity of continuing the journey of carrying out the good work of fulfilling the board’s responsibilities with high professionalism and efficiency to achieve the desired goals. He wished everyone continued success during the course of the year 2024.
This was followed by a review of the items on the agenda, the most important of which was setting the date for the association’s general assembly, which will be held in the first week of March 2024. The association’s financial report for the year 2023 was also reviewed, and the different particulars and observations included in the report were discussed. Views and proposals were put in place regarding the report and a discussion for preparing a financial plan comprehensively for the year 2024 was conducted. A proposal to conduct a specialized scientific training program during the first half of 2024 was also put forth.
The meeting also discussed the updates regarding the Journal of the Oman Medical Association (JOMA) and developments regarding the same. It was informed that the journal has been receiving scientific articles and other medical research works to be included in the upcoming issue. The meeting also reviewed the ways to develop and update the association’s website, which will serve as an effective way of communicating with the members of the association. The website can be accessed by all members and they can benefit from the different services provided therein including the opportunity to register and renew their membership in the association through the registration window given on the website. The meeting concluded its session by reviewing the list of different scientific societies affiliated with the association and the most important observations regarding them, and also discussed the formation of new societies.
